If you’re a veteran of the United States Armed Services, you qualify by law to receive dental services through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
The level of care available may vary, however. In some cases, the VA can provide extensive dental services, while other cases may only provide limited treatment.
You should also know that eligibility for outpatient dental care is different for dental care than it is for most other medical services offered by the VA. Services are divided into classes based on why a veteran would be eligible for dental care under the law, and what dental care they will receive.
Visit the Department of Veterans Affairs website to learn more about the dental care they can provide.
For specific information about the laws and categories of dental eligibility, read the VA’s Information Brief 10-442.
Finally, to speak directly to someone about your eligibility for dental care through the VA, call 1-877-222-VETS (8387).
